Today I'm interviewing one of the sexiest and most entertaining camgirls around. She's someone whose work impressed me so much I just had to interview her and to top it off she works against the odds to be a success. So welcome the very sexy and talented Scarlett Fox.

What got you into the adult industry?
Scarlett: It is very strange how I got into this industry, not knowing much about it and being ignorant to sex culture.
I was introduced into the industry through a friend from a Narcolepsy support group who suggested webcamming as an alternative means of income that suited girls who struggle with the physical and mental limitations caused by Narcolepsy. This is a Chronic Nervous System Disorder that prevents obtaining proper sleep and brain functioning. I would have a myriad of troubles with regular jobs like: working full time, physical complications in the workplace, requesting days off for appointments and sick days, as well as requiring frequent breaks during a shift. This sleep disorder is very hard to manage and finding a job that works around the disability is extremely hard and nearly impossible. Many narcoleptics like myself are fighting for government disability aid (SSI) and frequently being denied. In my situation, I was in the process of trying to obtain disability income but was left with really no other option for income, after being laid off, kicked out of college, and denied multiple jobs I tried to apply for.
JJ: Wow. That's an incredible way to get into the industry. I've never thought of it being used like that before.
What's the best thing about the industry?
Scarlett: The best thing about the industry is being my own boss. I am sure many girls say this often but it is very important to me because of my disability. I need to have control over the hours I work that suit my energy needs and physical limitations.
JJ: Of course this is perfect for you. You're able to do what you want when you want.
What's the worst thing about the industry?
Scarlett: The worst thing about the industry is the drama. I guess this concerns both trolls, other competitive models in the industry, and people in your personal life who find out. There is without doubt more public drama and gossip compared to many occupations. Anyone can say anything about you in your camroom or on social media. Its exhausting managing appropriate public relations and knowing how to handle a situation professionally.
JJ: It's the age old problem of people not being able to manage their views online. There's a time and place for things and people think being horrid on social media is the time and place and it isn't. If I have something horrible to say about someone I keep it to myself and tell that person directly to their face if what I don't like impacts me to the degree I need to voice my truth.
What's the funniest thing to happen whilst working?
Scarlett: Oh man, the funniest thing... A lot of ridiculous things happen in my show but trying to pinpoint one event is difficult. I would say the most memorable for sure was getting tipped to twerk to a whole song whilst eating a piece of pizza. I had a pizza delivered while working a show and my fans had helped me figure out how to include my pizza with a room goal.
JJ: I'm devastated right now that I didn't get to see that. Sounds impressive haha.
What are you up to work wise at the moment?
Scarlett: Aside from camming during the week, I am currently focusing on expanding my manyvids profile. I try to attack every platform one at a time. I often slacked on promoting my videos and sales on manyvids during the last year. Now I have been putting a lot of effort towards filming more videos and marketing my content on manyvids. There is definitely no fix all solution, so learning and adapting to the functioning of a new site is always a learning experience.
JJ: Where is the best place for people follow you online?

What's the best thing about sex?
Scarlett: Well I am very private about my personal sex life. I really enjoy the intimacy I experience between the person I am sharing myself with. I don’t go into detail about my relationships but I’d say the intimacy I share one on one with a person is my favorite part.
JJ: What are your biggest turn ons?
Scarlett: My biggest turn on is when a guy shows interest in my intellect rather than my body. For me to show interest, a guy must be intellectually stimulating and a gentleman. And for me personally, I need to see that he is not rushing into physical stuff or pressuring me. Moving slowly and showing patience makes me feel the most comfortable.
JJ: Too many guys now want instant satisfaction. They want instant nude pics, instant hookups. Very few take their time and get to know someone. It's the worst thing about the internet. It made communication more difficult.
The questions I enjoy most now...What's your favourite movie?
Scarlett: I honestly don’t have a favorite! I enjoy a lot of movies but I don’t enjoy watching them multiple times. However, there are a few Netflix and TV series I enjoy a lot. “Love,” “Black Mirror,” “Travellers,” and “The Office” are some of my top favourites.
JJ: Some good TV shows there. That more than makes up for not having a favourite film.
Whats your favourite holiday destination?
Scarlett: Oh man! I actually have never been on a holiday vacation before. I really hope to travel more and visit some new locations. But for now, I want to visit London one day when it's not cold haha.

Tell me one thing about yourself that people would never know by looking at you?
Scarlett: Just by looking at me? I talk a lot on my shows so many of my viewers find out a lot about me. But if I were to choose one thing, it would be how reserved and covered I am outside my job. No one ever expected me to cam and most people would never guess. Sorry to say, I’m not twerking off camera. I’m just a band t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. I don’t wear crazy makeup and I’m always found in sneakers.
JJ: That's good though that you can work and be able to still be yourself off camera and no-one would know any different.
What's been your biggest achievement in life or work?
Scarlett: I put a lot of pressure on myself to constantly achieve large goals. I have reached many goals in my life but nothing I recognize as a large achievement in the last several years. I’m hard on myself and probably too much at times. But I am really proud of building such a large fanbase from camming in just a year. It is a lot of work building from the ground up and takes a lot of trial and error.
JJ: I can understand that. I started with nothing and slowly built up a following. It's not easy and takes a hell of a lot of a time. I have to say you're doing very well.
What's the most challenging thing you've overcome?
Scarlett: The most challenging thing has to be my disability hands down. I went from being a college student holding a paid research position in the science labs to a young disabled unemployed adult. I was forced to withdraw from my college and my job for liability reasons concerning my Narcolepsy, only after my second year. Fighting for proper medical care, diagnoses, and government disability income has been the hardest things I had to endure. Without proper medication and means of income, I wasn't able to eat or live in a safe environment for several years.
My sleep disorder and limitations are very complicated to explain and understand. I am just very grateful I found webcamming as a job that I can manage at my own pace and time. It has even allowed me to re-enroll in college part time.
JJ: I'm glad you're in a better position now. It's made you a stronger person going through all that. You should be very proud of yourself.
What's the best thing a fan has ever done for you?
Scarlett: I have one fan in particular that has gifted me a lot of pricey things off my wishlist that I never expected to get! One item specifically meant the most to me because of the values I associated with it.
I got a very expensive lens for my camera purchased off my wishlist. For me, one of the major reasons I started camming, aside from my disability, was to pursue my future in photography. I was being offered large jobs under fashion photographers and wedding photographers in Los Angeles prior to this job, but I didn’t own certain photography gear and lenses which were required. This lens in particular was what I needed the most and when he bought it for me during a live broadcast, I started to cry!
JJ: Wow that's amazing. A very thoughtful gift regardless of its cost. I'm sure he was happy he could give you so much joy.
What's one bit of advice for anyone wanting to get into the adult industry?
Scarlett: I would say to do research until your eyes bleed. There is no “webcamming-porn star-stripping” manual that you can pick up at the local Barnes and Noble. It’s hard to walk into this industry not knowing a goddamn thing. I was very ignorant of sex culture and the adult industry when starting. I took three months to find any and every piece of information online about webcam modeling before starting. I even watched hours of webcam models on multiple sites to get an overall idea of what worked and what didn’t work.
Even with this, you still won't know everything as a beginner. Taking notes and reflecting on the success or failure of certain decisions you make is crucial to growing and being happy at this profession.
JJ: That's a very sensible and business minded approach to take and it's great to see girls getting into the industry having put so much thought into it.
What do you think you'll do if you leave the industry?
When I plan on leaving the industry, I will be furthering my education in fine arts alongside my photography career. I’m currently in college whilst building a portfolio of my own work. I aspire to be growing in my own photo career before I walk away from the sex industry entirely.
JJ: Great things ahead for you after the adult industry then. That's great to see.
